Start with how you actually work. Focused solo work, frequent video calls, occasional client meetings, reading, paper-heavy admin, dual-monitor design work and creative tools each ask for a different desk and storage configuration. List the three things you do most days — that determines the desk depth, drawer layout, shelf depth and whether the office should be concealed.
Measure the room. The dimensions that drive the design are room width, room length, ceiling height, alcove depths, window positions, radiator positions and existing electrical socket positions. Bravo London's design visit confirms these, but a sketch with rough measurements helps the initial conversation.
Pick the configuration. Full study wall if you have a dedicated room. Alcove desk pair if the office shares a reception room. Concealed bifold if it shares a bedroom. Library-office if you collect books seriously. Partners desk if the room has the centre space and the budget.
Pick the desktop. Solid oak is the safe default — warm, hand finishable in your home in the future. Walnut for a richer tone. Leather inlay for the classic library look. Painted MDF for a fully painted monolithic scheme. Stone for a contemporary architectural office.
Pick the heritage colour. Off-whites recede; deep heritage greens and navies are the most popular library colours; burgundies and oxbloods read as classic library; considered greys sit between. We colour-match Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Paint & Paper Library, Mylands, RAL and NCS at no extra cost.
Plan the cables. Decide where power needs to land — at the desk (always), inside the desk pedestal (for monitor and laptop power bricks), inside the printer cupboard, on top of the bookcases (for brass library lights), and any low-level sockets for desk lamps. Drop these in advance with your electrician.
Decide on concealment. A full home office can disappear behind a pair of bifold cabinet doors at the end of the working day. Worth specifying if the office shares a bedroom, a guest room or a reception room that doubles as an entertaining space.
Allow for installation. A compact alcove desk run installs in two to three days. A full study wall runs three to five days. A whole-room library-office with brass detailing runs five to ten days, plus painter follow-up. Every project is covered by a 10-year product and installation guarantee.
